Evolution of Bboyizm (YouTube)
Yvon Soglo (B-boy Crazy Smooth - founder of the Bboyizm Dance Company) has been dancing for over ten years during which time he has come to be known as one of Canada's top street dancers. Some of his professional experience includes instructing Cirque du Soleil acrobats and performing at the Nancy Jazz Festival in France. In 2006 he was honoured to receive the Most Valuable B-boy award at the annual Kings of NY Competition and was the first B-boy to receive a full grant from the Canadian Arts Council to study in both New York, Philadelphia and Orlando. In 2007 he was a keynote speaker at the United Nations Youth Conference. He is now dedicating himself to carrying on the street dance culture in the world of performing arts with the motto "Dance to Express, Not to Impress".
Demonstrate the use of different patterns in dance (pace, direction, symmetry); describe the skills needed to perform in public; distinguish between different dance forms; explore the relationship between rhythm and movement.

B-boying and B-girling (Breakdancing), born in the early 1970s, is an integral component of contemporary black history and hip-hop culture. This dynamic street dance now has a significant international following and reputation. In addition to its roots in Funk music and African American culture, the powerful acrobatic aspects of B-boying, or “breaking”, make it one of the most unique dances in the world.
Dancer-choreographer Crazy Smooth brings together some of Canada’s best street dancers to present a show that will amaze and inspire students and teachers alike, while educating them on the evolution of the dance, its culture and music.
