Ottawa Children's Theatre
Ottawa Children's Theatre: We teach skills that last a lifetime
Drama and Acting Classes for students aged 3 – 18 years.
Founded in 2013, The Ottawa Children’s Theatre is dedicated to theatre that is by, for, and about youth. Our mandate comes out of a deep and profound desire to enrich the lives of children and youth through theatre and the performing arts. We're process-oriented, and our class sizes are small to ensure maximum attention on each student.
Drama classes at The Ottawa Children's Theatre help young people gain self-confidence as they work together in a supportive environment. Our artist/instructors are theatre professionals with many years of experience as actors, directors and teachers. They provide our students with extensive training in voice and movement, improvisation, ensemble acting, and a variety of acting techniques. We place a strong emphasis on language arts, body awareness, creative thinking, and on working together.
The Ottawa Children’s Theatre is a representative for Trinity College, London –– an international examination body with an accredited drama syllabus offered in 70 different countries. We annually host an examiner from England to adjudicate our students’ work.
Now online, our programs are highly interactive, skill-based and fun! OCT LIVE Online 2020-2021 offers classes in Acting, Creative Drama, Musical Theatre, Improvisation, Designing for Theatre, Writing for Theatre and Poetry Workshops. Our classes emphasize language arts, body awareness, and creative thinking in a supportive environment with small class sizes. We may be in isolation, but we are connected.
OCT is a proud MASC artist and is available in the fall of 2020 to come into schools online.
