Video is a powerful medium that allows a message to be shared easily and that will last a long time. Awesome Arts participants have collaborated with professional artists to create more than 120 videos of all kinds: music videos, computer and stop motion animations, cinepoems (music video style spoken word poetry), documentaries and more. See below for a few examples or head on over to our Youtube channel and browse around!
A number of these videos have more than 7000 views and have been screened at film festivals, at City Hall and has garnered a couple of paying gigs for our musical youth groups.

A group of Lowertown youth explore the violence and positive future in their neighbourhood. Held in partnership with the Lowertown Community Resource Centre. With artists: Jamaal Jackson, Craig Conoley and Dean Watson
From Time
Remix workshop with 15 talented youth from the Notre Dame High School CHOICES program. CHOICES looks at important issues affecting youth, such as Dating Violence and Healthy Relationships, which were the themes for this remix song.

CinePoems
The Spark of Life
Intergenerational Spoken Word poetry program brought together Seniors and Youth. Together they wrote poems and discovered their similarities. Held in partnership with the Lowertown Community Resource Centre and Centre de services Guigues.

Intergenerational Animation

Intergenerational Awesome Arts program where seniors shared their stories about immigration and children animated the stories. This program was held in partnership with the Lowertown Community Resource Centre.
