MASC COVID -19 Protocols

MASC COVID-19 Protocols for in Person Programs

 Latest update: October 19th, 2020

IF YOU (OR A MEMBER OF YOUR HOUSEHOLD) HAVE COVID SYMPTOMS (FEVER, COUGH, DIFFICULTY BREATHING, HEADACHE) PLEASE REFRAIN FROM ATTENDING A MASC IN-PERSON PROGRAM. IF YOU ARE UNSURE WHETHER IT IS SAFE TO GO OR NOT, PLEASE USE THIS COVID-19 SCREENING TOOL.

MASC is taking all precautions with regards to in-person bookings. These are our latest updates following provincial and municipal guidelines:

Ottawa:

  • Social gatherings and organized public events allow a maximum of 10 people indoors and 25 people outdoors.

Gatineau:

  • Activities organized in a public place are prohibited except for places of worship and funerals (maximum of 25 people and an attendance register must be kept)

All locations:

  • In either case, participants must remain 2m apart from one another.

  • If the gathering is taking place indoors, participants must be wearing a face mask or shield the whole time.

  • If the gathering is taking place outdoors, MASC artists must wear masks before and after the event. However, they may remove the masks while performing or leading the workshops.

  • Wearing a mask is not obligatory for participants in outdoor gatherings, but is it still encouraged.

  • Singers and players of brass or wind instruments must be separated from any spectators by an impermeable barrier (e.g. plexiglass) in both indoor and outdoor venues.

  • Exercise proper hand hygiene; wash your hands regularly or use sanitizer especially before touching your face.

  • If you have any symptoms or someone in your household, please refrain from attending a MASC activity. (COVID 19 screening tool)
