Opera InReach

About the Artist
Opera InReach is a national arts collective seeking to expand opera’s civic impact through education. Co-founded by Andrew Adridge and Daevyd Pepper in 2020 as a response to the re-spark of the Black Lives Matter movement, the collective develops original opera educational programming aimed at demystifying opera and shedding light on its relevance in modern Canadian society.
Opera InReach has facilitated workshops with the University of Toronto Opera School, the Association for Opera in Canada, and Western University, working with young artists on developing the tools and ways of thinking to support a civic artistic practice. They have also partnered with indie opera companies, such as Loose Tea Music Theatre and Against the Grain Theatre, to develop bespoke educational programming for their season works and projects.
