Scribes + Griots

About the Artist
Founded by the artist Le R Premier, the Scribes & Griots project’s mission is to connect the future to the past by strengthening intergenerational links through the transmission of cultural knowledge and praxis. In addition to its various initiatives such as the Planète Urbaine Festival, the programming of the Picnics of La Francophonie et Africain within the framework of the Franco-Ontarian Festival as well as “La diffusion dans tout sa diversity” with Réseau Ontario, the project aims to enrich the collective memory of humanity through popular practices. Scribes & Griots is committed to the community and offers a variety of workshops, conferences and consultations about diverse cultural expressions.
The arts alone will not solve discrimination, but they have the power to trigger and nurture the profound ideological changes that will serve as the foundation for a more just society.
