About this program
A CHRISTMAS CAROL is a classic ghost story. A miser of legendary meanness meets the Ghosts of of his Past, Present and Future selves as he is shown how kindness, love and merriment bring health and well-being to his family and his community. Along the way, he finds joy in his own life.
Charles Dickens’ tale attacks the greed of some at the expense of others in a story which is even more powerful today. Published daily in the newspaper, his original provoked a storm of reaction. Playwright and director, Eleanor Crowder brings you a condensed version of Charles Dickens’ classic story. Her short script offers reading parts for the whole class. Students perform on Zoom (allowing you to record the show) or live for your class or school audience. The ensemble approach allows for multiple actors to shine and offers back-up in case of possible absenteeism. Students may learn their parts or read with verve from the script.
