About this program

Feminist writing has become a powerful force on modern Canadian stages. Women’s work turns a fierce spotlight on social justice issues immediate to our society. What truths live behind our curated selfies? What must change for the future?Since 1981, Eleanor has had 25 scripts professionally produced across Ontario and Quebec. Her work as playwright focuses on Family and the politics of intergenerational trauma. Her belief in community as a core source of resilience offers counterpoints of hope.

Students try out a selection of scenes and discuss their power with the author.

Eleanor will select scenes for your class from: Baby Buggy Blues (with Lib Spry and Sara Snow); Momma’s Boy, a love story; Windfall Jelly; The Revenge Comedy
