About this program
Two children, a mouse and a goat on a quest to find out where the water has gone. As they struggle up a steep mountain, the rocks tell the travelers old stories from a diversity of cultures, stories, they need to know if they are going to begin healing the land and bringing back the water. These stories-within-a-story make an engaging prompt for discussion about environmental realities and responsibilities.
•Making connections between narrative elements and the natural world; • Interdependence of social, economic and natural systems; • Stewardship; • Active listening skills; • Empathy; • Story structure: plot, character, landscape and narrative arc; • Cultural inclusion; • Non-verbal communication; • Oral language and storytelling.
