About this program
Playing is serious business in this workshop. Consider it a dress rehearsal! Here, participants get their heeby jeebies out and practice techniques to memorize a poem and read it aloud at different paces, in different voices, and at different speeds. Participants find places for pauses, inflections, and other tools we will use to guide the performance of the poem. By the end of this workshop, participants will have a quality recording on their phone of them reading their poem as if they would want to perform it based on practicing techniques to prepare them for success.
Participants will walk away from this workshop with a deeper understanding of poetry and themselves. This workshop enforces the importance of self-expression and self-confidence and shows participants how to face life challenges in a way that doesn’t feel so scary.
To book From The Page To The Stage, participants must have a poem selected. For writing a poem, see Zoey’s workshop Intro for Writing Spoken Word.
