About this program
Become enchanted by the rainbow of colours that nature has to offer. Learn about plant dyes, made with our everday surrondings and the colours among us. Participants can choose from the following activities, based on how much time we have: Explore equipment, make a bundle dye, pound plants onto fabric and make a dye bath with materials like avocado skins and stones, onion skins, tea. Creating our own colour with the materials around us is fun and reconnects us to who we are and the environment around us. Recipes and articles from other artists working in the domain of natural dyes around the world will be shared. Participants will produce a unique piece of art to bring home.
