Fall for Words 

Fall for Words is a dynamic touring literary arts program that explores the relationship between creative writing, spoken word, theatre, movement, and live performance. 
 
Led by award-winning poet and performer Jamaal Amir Akbari (JustJamaal ThePoet), this interactive program demonstrates how written language can be transformed into expressive and impactful performance pieces. 
 
Through original poetry performances, storytelling, spoken word demonstrations, and creative writing activities, participants learn how tone, body language, rhythm, pacing, emotional delivery, and stage presence can deepen the impact of the written word. 
 
Students will explore how poetry lives beyond the page and into movement and performance while discovering how confidence, creativity, and self-expression can strengthen communication both inside and outside the classroom. 
 
Schools may book Fall for Words as: 
• A single workshop/performance visit 
• A full-day school visit  
• A residency-style program consisting of four or more visits over several days or weeks
