Study Guides

MASC is proud to launch a new suite of Study Guides designed to help teachers extend learning before and after each artist visit. These comprehensive guides support the educational component of every MASC program, aligning artistic experiences with the Ontario Arts Curriculum and classroom goals. 

Each guide includes: 

  • A program overview with artist bios, workshop descriptions, and key learning outcomes. 
  • Curriculum connections linked to the Ontario Arts Curriculum, identifying strands such as Creating and Presenting, Reflecting and Responding, and Exploring Forms and Cultural Contexts. 
  • Extend the Learning discussion prompts to deepen classroom engagement before, during, and after an artist visit. 
  • A vocabulary bank and glossary to reinforce arts-based language and concepts. 
  • Student well-being and reflection activities to encourage creative expression and self-awareness. 

To further support teachers, every Study Guide also includes access to MASC’s suite of educator resources: 

  • The MASC Arts Workshop Assessment Toolkit (for tracking student engagement and learning outcomes). 
  • The Cultural Sensitivity Guide (for fostering inclusive and respectful learning environments). 
  • The Resource Database for Further Learning (featuring curriculum-aligned links and professional arts education materials). 
  • The Artist Package and Planning Tools (offering best practices for classroom preparation and accessible, inclusive programming).
